Old Reddit just started requiring a login.

Not new Reddit - old.reddit.com, the last corner of the site that still worked like a website instead of an engagement funnel.

That was the final straw for me, so let’s talk about the fediverse.

It’s the same instinct that’s had me running my own mail server and a media server for years - the fediverse is just the social layer of that habit.
